Overview

Futurex CryptoHub is an enterprise-class cryptographic platform that centralises HSM, key management, and related security services within a single infrastructure. Built on Futurex’s Base Architecture Model (BAM) — a common cryptographic architecture and code base shared across all Futurex platforms — CryptoHub can be deployed on-premises, in the cloud, or as part of a hybrid model. It integrates via vendor-neutral APIs, supporting organisations that need to consolidate their cryptographic infrastructure without locking into proprietary interfaces.

Unsung is a Futurex Bronze Partner and Value-Added Solutions Provider. We design, implement, and support CryptoHub deployments for UK customers requiring centralised cryptographic services across enterprise and payment environments.

The Challenge

Organisations with significant cryptographic requirements often operate multiple HSMs and key management systems across different applications, sites, and business units. Each HSM deployment may use different firmware versions, configurations, and management interfaces, creating operational fragmentation and increasing the risk of inconsistent cryptographic practices. Scaling this infrastructure — adding capacity, extending to new environments, or migrating to cloud — typically involves significant reconfiguration and testing.

Enterprises and financial institutions need a cryptographic platform that provides consistent HSM services and key management across all environments, scales without requiring architectural changes, and integrates with both legacy applications and modern cloud-native workloads.

What It Does

CryptoHub addresses these challenges by providing a centralised platform that consolidates HSM and key management services. The Base Architecture Model ensures that the same code base and configuration apply whether CryptoHub runs on-premises, in a private cloud, or in a public cloud environment, eliminating the reconfiguration typically required when scaling or migrating cryptographic infrastructure.

The platform provides full key lifecycle management including generation, distribution, rotation, archival, and deletion. It supports application encryption, remote key distribution, and tokenisation use cases. Vendor-neutral API integration enables connection to existing applications without requiring proprietary client libraries, reducing integration effort and avoiding vendor lock-in for application teams.

How Unsung Helps

Unsung helps clients assess their cryptographic infrastructure requirements, design appropriate CryptoHub architectures, and implement the platform integrated with their existing applications and key management processes. Our Hardware Security Modules service covers the full lifecycle from requirements assessment through deployment and operational support.
