The Challenge
Payment processing, classified government networks and critical national infrastructure often require dedicated HSMs on their own premises. These organisations need hardware that meets specific standards, such as PCI HSM, FIPS 140-2/3 and Common Criteria, and that supports specialised operations from payment transaction processing to CA key protection. Getting the hardware in is only the first step. On-premises HSMs must be designed, configured and integrated with the applications they serve, and key management, firmware maintenance and operational procedures must be in place to keep the estate secure and compliant throughout its life.
What It Does
The Classic Enterprise Platform provides the physical HSMs and key management servers for dedicated on-premises cryptography. Built on Futurex's Base Architecture Model, shared with CryptoHub and VirtuCrypt, the HSMs handle key generation, digital signing, encryption and payment transaction processing, with certifications suited to financial and government environments. Key management servers cover the full key lifecycle across applications and infrastructure: generation, distribution, rotation, archival and destruction. Payment use cases include PIN management, EMV card authentication and point-to-point encryption, alongside general-purpose enterprise cryptography.
