We are excited to announce our sponsorship of New Zealand cyclist Ellesse Andrews who is competing in the UCI Track Champions League in Europe for the first time – having recently won medals at the UCI Cycling World Championships in Glasgow and across Scotland.
So, who is Ellesse and what is the cycle race about?
Introducing Ellesse Andrews: A successful athlete and well-rounded individual
Ellesse Andrews is a standout athlete who, at the young age of 23, has already achieved an impressive track record in the world of cycling.
Hailing from a family of cyclists, Ellesse’s competitive nature and passion for adrenaline inspired her to take up track cycling at the age of 14. Through years of dedication and hard work, she has attained national and international recognition at both junior and elite levels, earning her the titles of World Champion, Commonwealth Games Champion, and Olympic Silver Medalist.
While her love of sport drives her to reach the peak of human potential, Ellesse also values the journey, building relationships, and improving herself in all areas that will lead her to a successful career and life post-sport. In addition to her athletic pursuits, Ellesse enjoys nurturing her creative side, exploring her beautiful home country of New Zealand, and is studying towards a Bachelor of Communications at the University of Waikato.
About the UCI Track Champions League
21 October – 11 November 2023
With five rounds in four cities, track cyclists from across the globe are competing in a three-week race league.
Riders compete in either the endurance or sprint categories, in women’s and men’s divisions, and score points across all five rounds. Points then accrue in a league table and the overall winners will be the riders with the most points at the end of the series.
