Overview

MyID IDV adds registration and identity verification capabilities to the MyID credential management platform. It provides biometric verification, identity document validation, and background check integration to ensure that subjects are correctly vetted before credential issuance. MyID IDV closes the gap between identity proofing and credential provisioning, ensuring that the strength of the identity verification matches the assurance level of the PKI credential being issued.

The Challenge

The assurance level of a PKI credential is only as strong as the identity verification performed before issuance. Issuing a high-assurance smart card credential against an inadequately verified identity undermines the entire trust model. Organisations need structured identity verification processes that capture biometric data, validate identity documents, and perform background checks where required — with all verification evidence linked to the resulting credential for audit purposes.

What It Does

MyID IDV provides a registration and identity verification workflow that feeds directly into the MyID credential management platform. Biometric capture — including facial recognition and fingerprint — establishes the subject’s physical identity. Identity document validation checks passports, driving licences, and other official documents against fraud databases. Background check integration enables vetting processes to be initiated and tracked within the same workflow.

All verification evidence is linked to the subject’s credential record, creating a complete audit trail from initial identity proofing through to credential issuance. This integration ensures that no credential can be issued without the required level of identity verification being completed and documented, and that assessors can trace the full chain from verified identity to issued credential.
